The Online Nursing Master’s Offers 3 Program Options

  • MS - Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), 48 credits
    Prepare for national certification through American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners National Certification Board (AANP).

    The FNP specialization mandates a 2-day immersion experience and 720 practicum hours, which can be applied towards the 1,000 hours required for a DNP degree.
  • MS - Nursing Leadership, 35 credits
    Prepare to become a Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) through the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE).

    The Leadership curriculum requires 180 hours of practicum experience working with qualified nurse leaders.
  • MS - Nursing Education, 42 credits
    Prepare for Certification for Nurse Educators (CNE) through the National League for Nursing (NLN).

    The Education curriculum requires 180 hours of practicum experience working with qualified nurse educators.

Admission Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program
  • An unencumbered RN license in the state in which you reside
  • 2,000 hours of work experience
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0  
  • A 3-credit statistics course (grade of C or higher)
  • A baccalaureate level health assessment course with observed laboratory with a grade of B or higher
  • A successful background check
  • Two letters of recommendation: preferably one from a faculty member and one from a professional colleague
  • A writing sample

    Explore ethical leadership principles, technology integration, governance structures, and policy implications in delivering health care and graduate with the knowledge to promote health on a high level as a nurse leader.

  • Nursing Education Certificate, 25 credits

    This online master's certificate includes 180 practicum hours collaborating with nursing educators near you. You'll put what you've learned into practice and develop a fuller understanding of how to teach fellow nurses.

Students with a B- or lower grade in statistics will be required to successfully complete a self-study module and accompanying exam.

** Students with a B- or lower grade in Health Assessment will be required to successfully complete a 3 credit hour course prior to starting the program.
