Master of Science in Accounting

Gain the skills to lead with confidence and ethics in the field of accounting. Build on your foundation of business and accounting knowledge and learn to provide data-driven financial leadership within your organization with the online Master of Science in Accounting from Utica College. You'll not only be prepared to apply accounting and tax frameworks to analyze business challenges, but you'll also gain the knowledge and credits you need to sit for the CPA exam.

Curriculum and Careers


The M.S. in Accounting curriculum is made up of 18 credits of accounting core courses, three credits of finance, three credits of quantitative analysis, and six elective credits, for a total of 30 credits over 10 courses. In as little as two years, you'll cover the following topics and graduate ready to accelerate your career:

  • Advanced Accounting
  • Corporate Finance
  • Advanced Corporate Tax
  • Financial Statement Analysis


According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Accountants and Auditors earned a median annual salary of $73,560 in 2020, with the top 10% earning $128,680.1 Upon graduation, you'll also have the comprehensive skills to pursue these and other in-demand positions, including:

Master of Science in Forensic Accounting

Learn to combine skills in forensic accounting, auditing, and analysis with investigative techniques and technologies. You'll not only be prepared to detect, investigate, and prevent fraud and other financial crimes,  but you'll also gain the knowledge and credits you need to sit for the CPA exam. Graduate in just two years.

Curriculum and Careers


While most forensic accounting programs teach the key forensic skills in just a few courses, at Utica College, forensic classes account for most of the required courses and students can choose all forensic courses with their electives. You gain deep forensic accounting knowledge that allows you to graduate with expert skills and experience.

You'll complete this 30-credit degree and graduate ready to accelerate your career having studied topics such as:

  • Fraud Management and Technology

Note that while most applicants will have a bachelor's in accounting, the M.S. Forensic Accounting program welcomes applicants with non-accounting undergraduate degrees to participate in the program.
