Nursing Home Administrator Certificate

The online Nursing Home Administrator graduate certificate offers coursework in management and long-term health care. Courses include ethical and legal issues, finance, gerontology, human resource management and nursing home administration. The certificate provides students with the fifteen credit hours of business and health care administrator content required to meet the educational requirements for candidates pursuing a Nursing Home Administrator license in New York State*.

 

Students who complete the Certificate have the option of applying those credits towards a graduate degree program at UC.

Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy (tDPT)

Designed for licensed physical therapy professionals to advance their practice and enhance patient outcomes. Students may enter the program with either a certificate, bachelor's, or master's degree in physical therapy. The transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy builds on current expertise and provides the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking abilities to move beyond injury treatment and focus on all aspects of patient care. The Vision 2020 directive from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is for all physical therapy to be provided by Doctors of Physical Therapy by the year 2020. Utica’s transitional DPT program can be completed in 16 months.

    The FNP specialization mandates a 2-day immersion experience and 720 practicum hours, which can be applied towards the 1,000 hours required for a DNP degree.

  2. MS - Nursing Leadership, 35 credits
    Prepare to become a Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) through American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE).

    The Leadership curriculum requires 180 hours of practicum experience working with qualified nurse leaders.

  3. MS - Nursing Education, 42 credits
    Prepare for Certification for Nurse Educators (CNE) through the National League for Nursing (NLN).

    The Education curriculum requires 180 hours of practicum experience working with qualified nurse educators.
