  3. WUTR: Utica College Students Raising Money for Impoverished Children
1 of 2 Campaign

It's a social media campaign highlighting the number of children within the city of Utica that are living below the poverty line.

Students at Utica College are hoping to lower the childhood poverty right in our area, creating things like podcasts, videos, and setting up a fundraiser for a goal of $5,000.

"We've been working on this since the beginning of the semester, stories that easily grab people's attention and tug at the heartstrings and get people to really recognize what's going on," said Sandy Moses, a journalism student at Utica College. "We are basically just trying to raise awareness for poverty and the seriousness of it in the community and help these people make their lives a little easier."

If you are looking to donate to the five-week campaign, you can learn more at 1of2.org
